H.C. Andersen – Denmark’s world famous fairy tale narrator – left his footprints in the beautiful market town of Præstø many years ago. Together with my love of boats, this has inspired me to set up Adventure Boats, which is the focal point of the company.

I got my first fishing dinghy from my father when I was 12 years old and drifted around the canals of Christianshavn in Copenhagen, and out into the Sound to fish. Of course I often sailed past the renowned boat rental, Christianshavns Kanals Bådudlejning, and that may also have given me the idea that I am realizing years later.

When I was 17 years old I went to sea with the school ship Georg Stage. The same day I was discharged from the Georg Stage I immediately enlisted in the merchant navy as an inexperienced sailor on a small coaster. The trip went across the Mediterranean and via the Suez Canal, the Red Sea and the Indian Ocean all the way to – yes – Australia. Thus I sailed my life adventure as a young boy. Likewise, I have had several boats and know my waters.
